I'm starting to get disappointed with the board. I know I'm no writer and the 3 stories I posted were not well received because of it, but I see this board becoming a place for ads only. Where did all the fantastic writers go? Heck, for that matter, where did the bad writer's go? That was at least better than the ads for video companies. If someone wants to post a match on here great, but I don't think we need ads for pay companies. THey used to be banned. What Happened????

Oh and don't write for others man, write for yourself. If they like it fine, this isn't supposed to be a job so enjoy whatever you write. I know my stuff sucks but I enjoy putting it out there even if nobody likes it.

I can't speak for every writer, but it feels like a waste of time when you spend hours on a story, it's read 800 times and you get zero comments back. It's not unusual for a well received story here to get less than 3 replies. When I publish something here it normally took an hour a page to generate. For most stories that is all you did that day. All of us fail to comment sometimes, (myself as well). That said no response is intepreted as "no interest". What would a writer feel if he got 200 replies for 800 views? Would he want to write more? Thank you for speaking up. I've been trying to get that crap off this board for weeks. The primary guy doing it just runs around to every adult board he can selling the same videos over and over. I guess he got tired of his own board getting no attention.
Glad to see enough people finally spoke up and got it all removed.
I know the reason I like this forum style is because I *can* see how many views my story get even though nobody replies on it. I think 99% of readers are casual viewers, not trolls like me. Just seeing the views around 600 I feel better about posting it in since I don't have that option in my yahoo club and I know Miles told me about how a lack of response is frustrating.Originally Posted by halhal3

I suppose i am part of the problem too I read the stories and don't comment often. From now on I will make an effort to comment on every one I read. Stone, in my mind you are one of the top writers. Your Cherry series is still one of my top 5. I visit your Yahoo site often looking for new material. I consider you and Mr. Cage my favs. Unfortunately I am not creative and the only stories I posted were of my wife and my real matches. Apparently no one was interested in "cockfights" at the time, and felt my description of my wife's battles boring. I did get responses and they weren't pleasant, so I keep my accounts to myself.

Can't speak for other writers, but things have been crazily busy at work with me ... just haven't had the time ... or even when I had the time over the Dec holidays was just too pooped to write ... Sigh!
Also it helps to encourage authors by just posting a brief comment ... I think many get discouraged when they get no or only one response ... so generally I try & respond to most stories in my line of interest ...

Your cockfights are welcome in my club sir. I even started writing very homo-erotic stories I called "sissy fights." These too were not well received by the general public but I did get a lot of positive feedback from a couple of other long time writers so my best advice is write what makes you happy not what makes others happy. This isn't a job so while getting positive feedback is great but either way you shouldn't let it control what you feel like writing. A prime example would be my "bully" series which rightfully disgusted about 90% of my readers but I really enjoyed writing it. Thinking about another sequel to my Amber in mexico miniseries but still just workshopping it in my head.
I'm glad I got so many positive reviews on Cherry's big match, I felt it would be a commercial success; probably needed more of a match, some more moves and a little more violence, but for a short story I liked writing it. Was it as good as Cage? Hell no! But I had fun doing it so that's my half-assed advice. Quit complaining or start the revolution yourself.
